The Michelin Guide has become the ultimate stamp of quality for restaurants around the world. Each year a new guide is published listing the best restaurants around, with the very best receiving one, two or three stars.
This year, the same five restaurants in the UK and Ireland retained their three stars with no new additions. There were three new two stars awarded though and 21 new one stars. There were also some shock omissions from this years’ guide. The Box Tree at Ilkley, which has maintained a star rating for 14 successive years before this one, surprisingly lost out. Once again, no Huddersfield restaurants have been awarded a star rating.
The town’s foodies don’t need to worry too much though. There are five one star establishments within 50 miles of St George’s Square in the guide and we have listed them below. All of them have been awarded one star and all of them retained that star from last year. For a slightly cheaper option you can check out the list of Bib Gourmand restaurants.
